In an Open House meeting at Lonawala on 14/06/2008 and subsequently in the Managing Committee meeting at Lonawala on 15/6/08 the following decisions were taken for providing the Financial Assistance for Higher Education, by the Panchayat, to its needy members. 1. It is the objective of the Panchayat to see that all youngsters of the Community, at least, become graduates. For this purpose the financial assistance to the extent of Rs. 6000/- p.a. per student will be provided by the Panchayat to deserving candidates on their merits. 2. For higher education abroad, the student candidate should apply to a bank for education loan. The interest quotient of the loan will be reimbursed by the Panchayat. The Panchayat however will consider to reimburse per candidate (during the tenure of his education) the actual Interest paid by him or Rs. 12000/- which ever is lower. For applying to the bank for loans Mr. Ramesh Mansukhani the Editor of Amil Samachar will help the students in completing the formalities and helping them to obtain the loans. It was decided that the report of Open House meeting as per item 5 & 6 agenda should be published in the Aug 08 issue of ?Amil Samachar? and also to be placed on website of KAP for the information of all the committee members.
