Open House meeting on Aims and Objects of the Panchayat, held at Shahani Home Lonavla on 14thJune 2008.
The general discussion on the subject led to two points:
(a) Finance and how to generate it
(b) How to make Volunteers and Student members
(a)1. It was agreed each member present in the meeting will make at least 10 new members.
2. In order to receive funding from abroad, the Panchayat will get the FCRA clearance. This should be done at the earliest. The application to the Reserve Bank should be made immediately since the Home Ministry normally takes a long time to clear the application.
3. In order to remain in touch, frequency of get-togethers should increase. At least once in 3 months a get-together should be organized.
(b)1. In order to tap College students, a formal letter is to be sent to such Colleges that are approachable, asking the Principals to identify the Amil students in their College. The Panchayat will then be able to get in touch with them and motivate them to be a part of the Panchayat
2. A link to the website needs to be made for Amil youth to join online. Ms Sabina Mirchandani has agreed to be the moderator for this project.
3. Insertions in some newspapers to ask Amil youth to join, is also to be explored.
At the end of the meeting it was felt, introspection was needed by members to come together and work towards achieving the objectives of the Panchayat.
